Breathing Freely: Air Quality Case Studies
Breathing Freely is LCEF's new case study series. These clean air focused case studies explore how Labour councils from around the country are taking action to tackle air pollution locally.
We spoke with councillors in Brighton, York, Lambeth, Oxford and more to find that Labour councils are showing ambitious leadership at local level and making a real difference through a range of interventions, that include: Campaigns on wood burning stoves, driving the switch to electric vehicles, implementing school streets, and creating zero-emission zones.
It’s critical that local leaders across the country are empowered to replicate and build on this leadership with the powers and support from central government.
